The 15-year-old Boyolali Cup horse race was finally held back on Friday-Sunday (17-19/2/2023) in the field of Sukabumi Village, Cepogo, Boyolali.
The horse race was attended by 53 participants from various regions. While the final round was held on Sunday starting at 08.00 WIB to finish. At the opening, Nandar said The Regent of Boyolali M Said Hidayat and the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) were planned to attend and tour the field once on horseback.
In the final round, the audience will not only be entertained by horse racing action but there will also be paragliding and paramotor action. “The paragliding and paramotor yesterday have not been fixed, this has been fixed,” he said.
Furthermore, Nandar revealed that the Boyolali Cup 2023 horse racing championship was attended by 53 participants from various regions in Central Java such as Boyolali, Solo, Klaten, Salatiga, Sragen, Semarang, Magelang, Kendal, Kebumen, and other regions.
Not only from Central Java, participants also came from Yogyakarta, East Java, West Java, and Lampung. Nandar revealed on Wednesday (15/2/2023) that horse measurements, drawings, and technical meetings had been carried out.
From the results of horse measurements, Nandar revealed that there will be 13 classes competed in the Boyolali Cup 2023 horse race in Sukabumi, Cepogo.
“There are Class E 1,200 meters, Class F 1,000 meters, Class G 1,000 meters, Class H 1,000 meters, class I 1,000 meters, Class J 1,000 meters, Class Mini a 600 meters, mini B heat-1 600 meters, mini B heat-2 600 meters, local Class Boyolali heat-1 600 meters, local Boyolali heat-2 600 meters, extra 600 meters, and class free for all,” he explained.
Furthermore, Nandar said it had been about 15 years of horse racing in Boyolali vacuum because of something. So, Pordasi Boyolali currently wants to revive again.
“The last was in Cepogo in the 2000s, there used to be a model of quality local racehorses and everything in the Java region. In Boyolali the old vacuum because Pordasi management does not exist, and the trend also stops in Boyolali and we preserve it again,” he said.
Nandar hopes that with the revival of horse racing in Boyolali can be scheduled regularly every year. Moreover, the horse race in Cepogo will be the opening part of the tradition of Grebeg Sadranan in the month of Ruwah in the following years.
