A total of 148 horses took part in the National Horse Racing Championship Series 1: Indonesia Derby 2024 at the Sultan Agung Stadium racetrack, Kapanewon Jetis, Sunday (28/7). The horses from 70 stables throughout Indonesia competed in 18 races for a total prize of Rp1.2 billion.
CEO Sarga.co, Aryo Djojohadikusumo, said the National Horse Racing Championship Series 1: Indonesia Derby 2024 is one of the many agendas that have been planned with the aim of making horse racing a new source of national pride.

“A total of 18 races in this race are divided into two class categories, namely non-national championship class and national championship class,” he said, yesterday. For the non-national championship class there are 10 races, including the 2-year beginner class C/D I distance of 1,200 meters, 2-year Class C/D II distance of 1,200 and Class E distance of 1,200 meters.
For the national championship class there are eight races, including the 2-year beginner class C / D distance of 1,200 meters, 2-year beginner class A/B distance of 1,400 meters, 2-year class THB INA distance of 1,400 meters and 3-year-old Class and above THB INA distance of 1,600 meters.
There are at least 12 provincial administrators of the Equestrian Association throughout Indonesia who took part, such as East Java, West Java, DKI Jakarta, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, South Kalimantan, West Sumatra, NTT, DIY, Riau, South Sulawesi and Central Java.
According to Aryo, in this National Championship the committee also took 370 local micro, small and medium enterprises to introduce their products ranging from Culinary to handicrafts.
Head of Business Development Mayora Group Danny Mamesah said his office fully supports the National Championship this time because it is in line with his party’s mission to make a positive contribution to the progress of Indonesia.
VP Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina Fadjar Djoko Santoso hopes that this National Championship will not only promote equestrian sports in Indonesia but also support the local economy and tourism.
SEVP Wealth Management PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Steven Suryana revealed that horse racing can provide interesting entertainment and become one of the drivers of the Indonesian economy through the tourism and sports sectors.
