After success with several horse racing championship events such as the Triple Crown Cup Series 1 and Pertiwi Cup last April, this time SARGA.CO National Horse Racing Championship Series 1: Indonesia Derby 2024. The event took place at Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul, Yogyakarta, Sunday, July 28.
This event competed 98 horses in the preliminary round and 148 horses in the final round from various regions in Indonesia. Then, the race is divided into 18 races consisting of two class categories, namely non-national championship class and national championship class. Meanwhile, the total prize of this championship reached Rp1.2 billion.
For non-national championship classes there are 10 races, namely Class 2 year beginner C/D I distance of 1,200 meters, Class 2 year C/D II distance of 1,200, Class E distance of 1,200 meters, Class B distance of 1,200 meters, Class A Sprint distance of 1,300 meters, Class D distance of 1,400 meters, Class 2 year beginner A/B distance of 1,400 meters, Class C distance of 1,600 meters, Class 3 year A/B Derby distance of 2,000 meters and Class F distance 1,000 meters.
As for the national championship class, there are 8 races, namely Class 2 Beginner C / D distance of 1,200 meters, Class 2 Beginner A / B distance of 1,400 meters, Class 2 THB INA distance of 1,400 meters,
Class 3 years and above THB INA distance of 1,600 meters, Class 3 years C / D teenagers distance of 1,600 meters, Class 4 years c / d distance of 1,600 meters, Class 3 Years A / B Indonesia Derby distance of 2,000 meters and
4-year-old Class A / B distance of 2,000 meters.
Aryo Djojohadikusumo as CEO SARGA.CO said that the initiative to hold the Championship began with his love for equestrian sports. The event was also held with full support from various parties, including the main sponsor of Le Minerale. Danny Mamesah as the head of business Development of Mayora Group said that his party fully supports the National horse racing championship because it is in line with the company’s mission to make a positive contribution to Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Fadjar Djoko Santoso as VP of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero) believes that the National Horse Racing Championship Series 1: Indonesia Derby 2024 is also held to support the local economy and tourism.
“We believe this event will not only promote equestrian sports in Indonesia, but also support the local economy and tourism where this national championship event is held,” said Fadjar.
Based on data from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), horse racing in Indonesia is growing rapidly and it can be seen from the enthusiasm of the community in various championships held. This is in line with data from the Yogyakarta Special Region Tourism Office which states that the implementation of horse racing championships can have a positive impact on the economy and tourism sector.
Through the National Horse Racing Championship Series 1: Indonesia Derby 2024, SARGA.CO successfully involved more than 370 local MSMEs in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas to participate in the SARGA Festival area.
