To enliven the 79th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Sidomulyo Village Committee, Semangga District, Merauke Regency held a traditional horse race, Sunday (4/8/2024).
The horse race centered on the Taman Pinang Kampung Sidomulyo Circuit was attended by 57 horses and jockeys divided into 4 classes, namely Junior, Senior, Veteran and Peranakan classes.
The enthusiasm of the equestrian sports lovers is quite a lot, because this sport is one of the prestigious and classy sports in Merauke regency, South Papua province.
Since opening until the end of the race went with a lively, crowded and successful.
Chairman of the Committee for the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia Sidomulyo Village Semangga District Merauke Regency Alung Rifai said that this horse race was a series of activities held in order to enliven the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
“I am always the chairman of the committee to express my gratitude and appreciation to the committee, village government officials, and sponsors and donors who have helped make the implementation of this competition a success,” said Alung Rifai.
From the race came out as the first winner of the junior class horse Jaguar with jockey Iki Origin Sidomulyo, second winner horse Tom jockey DEA origin Mopah, third horse Tititas jockey faldo and Hope 1 horse Jois jockey Ardiansyah Origin Kurik.
For the Senior class ranked first on behalf of the horse Hanter jockey Zaki Origin Semangga 1, champion 2 Horse Marlboro jockey Alvin origin kuprik, Champion 3 horse Jordan jockey Iki and Hope 1 horse Yamaha jockey Fahri origin kuprik. As for the Veteran class, the 1st winner is Brondong horse jockey Anhar from kuprik, the 2nd winner is Teratai Putih horse, the 3rd winner is lightning horse jockey sumartono and the hope is one white snout horse jockey Momon. The last Peranakan class is also 1 horse Feihung jockey Anjar from Semangga, horse angela jockey Dava 2nd place, horse Anjani jockey zaki 3rd place and Hope 1 horse wulan jockey fahri from kuprik.
